Abhijeet Dipke Defiant After Delhi Detention, Vows to Continue CJP Protest
‘We Have Not Signed Any Bond’: Abhijeet Dipke Vows to Resume CJP Agitation
New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has vowed to resume the party’s agitation, asserting that the organisation has not signed any bond or undertaking promising not to hold protests.
Dipke’s statement signals that the CJP’s campaign against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is set to continue, despite the police action and restrictions surrounding the party’s planned demonstrations in the national capital.
Emphasising the party’s determination to continue its campaign, Dipke said the CJP had not agreed to any condition barring it from organising further protests. His remarks come amid an ongoing confrontation between the party and the authorities over its planned agitation.
The CJP has been demanding accountability over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and has called for Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. The party has raised concerns about the voter-list revision process and the broader functioning of the Election Commission.
The planned protests in Delhi drew attention after police imposed security restrictions around the demonstration venues and detained several protesters. The developments triggered a wider debate over the right to peaceful assembly and the handling of political demonstrations.
Dipke’s latest declaration indicates that the party intends to press ahead with its demands rather than abandon its campaign following the recent police action.
The next course of the agitation, including its timing and location, remains to be seen.
The CJP’s announcement comes at a time when the dispute over electoral-roll revisions and demands for accountability from the Election Commission continue to feature prominently in the party’s campaign.
