Delhi HC Issues Notice to CJP Leaders Over Alleged AI-Morphed Image With PM Modi
The Delhi High Court has issued notices to four leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), including founder Abhijeet Dipke, over a woman's plea concerning an allegedly AI-generated and morphed image showing her alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The respondents named in the plea are CJP leaders Saurav Das, Abhijit Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh. The woman has alleged that her photograph was used without permission and manipulated using AI face-swapping technology. These allegations have not been established by the court.
Justice Girish Kathpalia directed Meta to remove the objectionable content within 24 hours. The court also directed Delhi Police to provide protection to the woman, who allegedly received threats after the images were circulated.
The case follows an FIR registered by Delhi Police after the woman's complaint. Reports said the alleged image was displayed during a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar and subsequently circulated online.
The court has also directed that the woman's residential address be kept confidential and conveyed only to the concerned police officials. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on October 14.
