‘You Cannot Solve Problems With Force’: Murli Manohar Joshi on Student Protests
Murli Manohar Joshi Opposes Use of Force Against Students, Says Their Genuine Demands Must Be Heard
Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi has said that students’ genuine demands should always be heard with sensitivity, stressing that the use of force is not an appropriate way to resolve their grievances.
Speaking amid the ongoing protests in Delhi, Joshi said that students should be treated with empathy and their concerns should be addressed through dialogue. He described the use of force or “lathi” as an unsuitable approach for finding a solution.
“Whatever genuine demands the students have should always be heard, and they should be heard with great sympathy. This method of using force is not appropriate. You can never find a solution this way. If there is a problem, listen to them. They are our children.”
Joshi’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions over protests linked to the Election Commission and demands for accountability from the poll panel.
