Kapil Dev Urges Youngsters to Be Responsible, Listen to Experienced People

New Delhi: India’s 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has urged the country’s youngsters to act responsibly, listen to experienced people and remain cautious about being misguided.

Emphasising the crucial role of young people in shaping India’s future, the legendary cricketer said the younger generation should be willing to learn from those who have greater life experience.

“They (youngsters) should learn to listen and be more responsible. They are the future of the country and we cannot let them be misguided. They are not always right and they need to consider the fact that we have experience,” Kapil Dev said.

His remarks highlighted the importance of responsible decision-making, guidance and learning from the experiences of others. He stressed that young people, who will play a significant role in the country's future, should remain open to advice and carefully consider different perspectives before reaching conclusions.

Kapil Dev, who led India to its historic maiden Cricket World Cup triumph in 1983, remains one of the country's most celebrated sporting figures. His message underscored the importance of balancing youthful enthusiasm with maturity, responsibility and the willingness to learn from others.
