New Delhi: Air India has terminated the pilot of a Phuket-Delhi flight after a confirmatory drug test detected a psychoactive substance, according to reports.
The action follows an incident involving the flight in which the aircraft reportedly lost 292 feet of altitude, leaving 24 people injured.
Following the incident, the pilot underwent drug testing as part of the investigation. While the initial test reportedly raised concerns, a subsequent confirmatory test detected a psychoactive substance.
Air India subsequently terminated the pilot’s employment, underscoring the airline’s action against safety violations and substance-related concerns involving flight crew.
