‘Don’t Wait for Enemy to Reach Iran’: Quds Force Official
Iran Quds Force Official Calls for Confronting Threats Before They Reach Iranian Borders
Iranian fighters should confront threats before they reach the country's borders, senior Quds Force official Iraj Masjedi said, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
Masjedi, deputy coordinator of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, said Iran’s strategy was to pursue perceived enemies in their “strategic depth” and prevent militant groups from reaching Iranian territory.
He said forces in Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, Iraq and Yemen were supporting what Tehran describes as the “resistance front.”
The remarks come amid Iran’s increasingly assertive military posture. Recent statements by Iranian military officials have also emphasized deterrence and offensive operations against perceived threats.
