Emergency teams battle difficult terrain to conduct rescue ops; investigation into cause of crash underway.

Guwahati:-Five Indian Air Force personnel died and one survived after an IAF transport aircraft crashed in Assam during a routine sortie in the northeastern region, officials confirmed today.

Aircraft Down During Operational Flight.

According to initial reports from defence sources, the aircraft met with an accident while on a standard operational flight. The crash occurred in a remote area of Assam, with the exact location being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

 Rescue Operations in Challenging Terrain.

Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to the crash site. Rescue operations were carried out under challenging terrain and weather conditions. One crew member was found alive and has been shifted to a military hospital for treatment. The condition of the survivor is yet to be officially disclosed.

 Probe Ordered, Tributes Pour In.

The Indian Air Force has ordered a Court of Inquiry to determine the cause of the crash. Senior IAF officials are at the site to oversee recovery efforts. 

The Ministry of Defence expressed condolences to the families of the deceased personnel, stating that their service and sacrifice will be remembered. “The nation stands with the bereaved families in this hour of grief,” a spokesperson said.
