Russia-Ukraine War: Drone Strike Hits Shopping Mall in Zelensky’s Hometown
Russian forces reportedly launched multiple drone strikes on a shopping complex in Kryvyi Rih, central Ukraine, killing 16 people and injuring more than 130, according to Ukrainian officials.
The daytime attack targeted one of the city’s largest shopping complexes, triggering a fire and causing extensive damage. Regional Governor Oleksandr Kulyk said at least 22 children were among those injured, while 29 people, including five children, were in serious condition.
Kryvyi Rih is the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy condemned the attack as a brutal assault and vowed that Ukraine would respond.
Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defence Council, said the shopping complex was struck repeatedly, describing the incident as a major attack on a civilian area.
