Roadside Food Under Scanner as FDA Tightens Safety Checks
FDA Steps Up Food-Safety Crackdown on Unhygienic Roadside Eateries
FDA Commissioner Tukaram Munde Urges Citizens to Prioritise Food Safety
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Munde has urged citizens to avoid eating at unhygienic roadside eateries as authorities intensify inspections to ensure food-safety standards are followed.
From Chinese food stalls and vada pav vendors to other roadside eateries, officials are cracking down on poor hygiene practices, the use of newspapers for serving food and excessive or unauthorised food colouring.
Munde appealed to citizens to report unhygienic food establishments to the authorities and stressed that consumers should remain alert about the quality and safety of the food they eat.
The intensified inspections aim to protect public health, improve hygiene standards among food businesses and promote greater accountability in the food-service sector.
