Sing Vande Mataram Without Teleprompter’: Priyank Kharge Challenges PM Modi, Amit Shah

Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to sing the complete version of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ without using a teleprompter.

Kharge made the remarks amid the ongoing political controversy over the rendition of Vande Mataram. He questioned the BJP’s renewed emphasis on the national song and challenged its senior leaders to demonstrate their familiarity with the complete version.

His comments came after the BJP passed a resolution defending the full legacy of Vande Mataram and opposing the Congress decision to restrict its rendition at party programmes to the first two stanzas.

Separately, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut also challenged PM Modi and Amit Shah to recite the full song without a teleprompter, saying there would be no teleprompter available for the challenge.
