Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali , whose new film Main Wapas Aaunga'is based on the India-Pakistan Partition, spoke about Indian Muslims in a recent interview.

Addressing people who tell Indian Muslims to go to Pakistan", Imtiaz Ali said:

"Indian Muslims proved their patriotism the most when, despite having the option, they chose to stay in India."

He was referring to 1947, when millions of Muslims had the choice to migrate to Pakistan during Partition, but a large number decided to remain in India and build the nation.
