Raza Murad Raises Questions Over Bollywood’s Absence At Veteran Actor Mushtaq Khan’s Funeral
‘Couldn’t Spare Two Hours?’ Raza Murad Criticises Bollywood Stars Over Mushtaq Khan’s Funeral Absence
Veteran actor Raza Murad has criticised several prominent Bollywood personalities for not attending the funeral of fellow actor Mushtaq Khan, questioning why they could not take time out to pay their final respects.
Mushtaq Khan, who passed away on September 24, was laid to rest in Mumbai on Friday. A number of his colleagues and friends from the film industry attended his last rites, while several others expressed their condolences on social media.
In a strongly worded video message, Murad questioned the priorities of some Bollywood stars. He said celebrities readily make time to attend high-profile weddings and other social events but allegedly failed to spare time for an actor who had dedicated nearly five decades to the Hindi film industry.
Murad also pointed out that several actors had worked with Mushtaq Khan during his long career. Referring to their absence from the funeral, he questioned why they could not make even a brief appearance to honour their former colleague.
Several members of the film fraternity, including Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra, Rajat Bedi and Manish Wadhwa, were among those who attended Khan’s funeral.
Murad’s remarks have drawn attention to the issue of how Bollywood remembers and honours veteran artists, particularly after their death. His comments have also sparked discussion on social media about the responsibilities of colleagues and industry figures during such moments.
