Pre-Monsoon to Show Its Fury: Heavy Rain on May 12, 13, 14 and 15, IMD Issues Alert for These States.

Heavy Rain Alert:Pre-monsoon is set to show its intensity in the country. Keeping this in mind, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert that heavy rain will occur in several states on May 12, 13, 14 and 15.

The weather across the country has changed after the onset of pre-monsoon (Pre-Monsoon). Due to this, the spell of rain has started once again in several states and the effect of changing weather is visible. Some time ago, weather experts had predicted that 2026 would see good rainfall, because the monsoon (Monsoon) 2025 season witnessed excellent rain and in many states the rainfall even broke all previous records. However, the possibility of an El Niño impact also remains. Meanwhile, the pre-monsoon will now show its intensity in the country. In view of this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Heavy Rain Alert for several states on May 12, 13, 14 and 15.

The country will see pre-monsoon fury. The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar, Mahe, Yanam, Karaikal, Rayalaseema, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh* on May 12, 13, 14 and 15.

The weather has changed in many states of the country. The IMD has issued an alert that *Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, Goa, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha* will see intense rainfall on May 12, 13, 14 and 15.

Alert for strong winds, dust storms, thunderstorms, and hail.

The IMD has also issued alerts for strong winds, dust storms, and thunderstorms in rain-affected states across Northwest India, West India, East and Central India, South India and Northeast India on May 12, 13, 14 and 15. According to the IMD, wind speeds will vary across states, ranging from 30–60 kmph. During this period, some hilly areas may also witness hailstorms along with rain.
