Doctor Assault On Woman In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar —BJP Office Bearer’s Role Under Scanner
CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR (AURANGABAD):Police have arrested a naturopath and the BJP’s Phulambri taluka president following a complaint of sexual assault and circulation of an obscene video, in a case that has sparked a Special Report on Zee24Taas questioning the involvement of a ruling party office bearer.
Case Details:
A woman alleged that when she visited Samarth Clinic in Phulambri run by Dr. Ramdas Mahadu Tarte (54) for treatment for headache, she was given pills after which she became drowsy and was allegedly sexually assaulted. She also alleged that a video of the incident was recorded and circulated on social media, causing her humiliation.
FIR was registered on Oct 20. Police confirmed both accused were arrested the next day and remanded to police custody.
The accused are:
Dr. Ramdas Mahadu Tarte (54), Director of Samarth Clinic, Phulambri
Uttam Bhagaji Dhoke (50), BJP Phulambri Taluka President
Blackmail Twist:
During probe, police found that Dhoke allegedly roped in a staffer at Tarte’s clinic to record the video and used it to target him and later circulated it.
In a counter-complaint, Tarte alleged that a relative of Dhoke sent him the video on WhatsApp on Oct 16 and demanded Rs 20 lakh to settle the matter. He had submitted a complaint to the Superintendent of Police (SP) before his own arrest, police said. Investigation is on whether more people were part of a blackmail racket.
Charges:
Case registered under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and Information Technology (IT) Act. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pooja Nagare is the Investigation Officer.
The incident comes amid a spate of assaults on medical professionals in Maharashtra — including cases in Wardha, Palghar, Dombivli and MGM Hospital, Sambhajinagar — prompting doctors’ associations like Central MARD and FAIMA to demand strict security measures and enforcement of Maharashtra Medicare Act
