'Agent Of Our Adversary' — Iran Nuclear Chief Mohammad Eslami Accuses IAEA Chief Rafael Grossi Of Leaking Info To Enemies, Hints NPT Exit Is Sovereign Option
Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran accused the UN nuclear watchdog’s chief Rafael Grossi of passing information to Iran’s adversaries.
Speaking to RT, Mohammad Eslami alleged that the IAEA director general was acting as “an agent and a compliant follower of our adversary,” providing information to those threatening Iran.
Eslami said such conduct amounted to an abuse of international institutions’ mandates and undermined their legitimacy, exposing weaknesses in the UN Charter and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
On whether Iran could withdraw from the NPT, Eslami said the issue was “a major strategic decision” within the country’s sovereign authority.
He said Tehran would make its decisions within a broader strategic framework guided by national security considerations and national interests, without announcing any decision to leave the treaty.
He also called repeated threats by the US president to attack Pickaxe Mountain and other locations a clear indication of their desperation.
