Gyanu Must Go!’ — Abhijeet Dipke’s CJP Announces Big Decision, Backs Congress-led INDIA Bloc’s Nov 1 Rally At Ramlila Maidan
NEW DELHI:Finally, a big announcement from Abhijeet Dipke. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder on Wednesday declared that the party will support the Congress-led INDIA bloc’s massive rally on November 1 at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, and said a unanimous decision has been taken.
Dipke posted on X: “GYANU MUST GO! The Cockroach Janta Party extends its support to the INDIA Bloc’s November 1 rally. Nation above all! #JaiBhim #JaiHind.”
The rally, announced two days ago by Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge in a video message, is being organized under the “Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao” campaign to protest against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demand the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
CJP Statement:
In its statement, CJP said, “The fundamental principle of democracy is that people get to choose their government, not that the government gets to choose its voters. By undermining this very principle through SIR, Gyanesh Kumar has lost the trust required to oversee free and fair elections. His resignation is therefore necessary to restore the credibility and independence of the Election Commission.”
It added, “The SIR exercise has raised serious concerns about the removal of eligible voters from electoral rolls. The idea was simple: bring more citizens into democracy, not keep them out of it.”
The CJP said it would “support all organisations fighting for free and fair elections in our country.”
Significance:
This is the first time CJP is openly endorsing the INDIA bloc’s protest. For weeks, CJP and Congress ran parallel campaigns against CEC Gyanesh Kumar. Congress had skipped CJP’s Oct 10 protest in Delhi, while Trinamool, SP, Left, Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (SP), AAP and DMK had backed CJP.
Opposition Preparations:
As part of strategy, all opposition MPs have been instructed to reach Delhi by 1 pm on October 30. A special mock parliament will be organized at Kharge’s official residence where a public impeachment of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will be conducted.
It has also been strictly warned that no inflammatory speeches or provocative statements will be made from the stage, while CTI (Chamber of Trade and Industry) has sought a 20-minute meeting with Rahul Gandhi flagging concerns that the rally expected to draw 10 lakh people may disrupt business during festive season ahead of Diwali.
