Dhaka:- Bangladesh created history on Wednesday, beating World Champions Australia by 5 wickets in the 2nd ODI to seal their first-ever ODI series win against Australia.
How Bangladesh Won the 2nd ODI
Australia Collapse: After winning the toss and opting to bat, Australia were reduced to 0/3 in the opening overs. Marnus Labuschagne (55) and Xavier Bartlett (52) rescued them, but they managed only 191.
Steady Chase: Chasing a revised target of 192, veteran batters Soumya Sarkar (42), Najmul Hossain Shanto (41) and Towhid Hridoy (40 not out) anchored the innings.
Finishing Touch: Despite quick wickets, Hridoy and Mehidy Hasan Miraz ensured Bangladesh chased down the target in 34 overs with minimal fuss, finishing at Breaking a 21-Year Jinx.
This is Bangladesh’s first ODI series win over Australia in history. The last time Bangladesh beat Australia in an ODI was 21 years ago in the 2005 NatWest Series in Cardiff.
Earlier in the series, Bangladesh won the 1st ODI by 86 runs via DLS method after posting 284/8, with Mosaddek Hossain scoring .
