Pakistan Cricket Crisis: Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq Summoned by Cyber Crime Agency Over Phone Data

Pakistan cricket's off-field troubles have deepened, with senior players Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq reportedly summoned by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) following an investigation into information retrieved from their mobile phones. The development comes days after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent the two players home from England following the team's heavy defeat at Lord's. 

According to reports, the NCCIA is examining data obtained from the players' phones, including their communications and contacts. The investigation comes amid growing scrutiny over alleged dressing-room leaks and player conduct during Pakistan's troubled England tour. However, there is no confirmed finding that Rizwan or Imam-ul-Haq committed match-fixing or any cybercrime. 

The PCB had earlier launched an internal disciplinary inquiry after reports that mobile phones of two players had been confiscated and their data retrieved. Seven players, including Rizwan and Imam, were sent back to Pakistan after the team's 194-run defeat to England at Lord's. Head coach Sarfraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were also removed. 

The latest NCCIA development adds another layer to the crisis surrounding Pakistan cricket. Reports of behavioural issues, dressing-room tensions and questions over team discipline have already triggered intense debate, while the PCB faces pressure to explain the circumstances behind its sweeping mid-series decisions.
