Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: - In order to ensure timely water supply to the city, the works should be completed on time and the pending payments of the contractors should be checked and paid, said Divisional Commissioner G. Srikanth and Member Secretary Amgothu Sri Ranga Nayak. They also clarified that the payments submitted by the agency will be paid only as per eligibility after checking.

A review meeting was organized in the hall of the Divisional Commissioner's office under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner G. Srikanth in connection with various issues raised in the court regarding the city's new water supply scheme. On this occasion, Member Secretary of Maharashtra Life Authority Amgothu Sri Ranga Nayak, Police Commissioner Praveen Pawar, Superintendent of Police Dr. Vinay Rathod, Chief Engineer of Maharashtra Life Authority Manisha Palande, project contractor of the scheme and officers of the concerned departments were present. On this occasion, a review of the completed and incomplete works of the scheme was taken.

It is a serious matter that payments for some of the works done by the contractors are pending. Therefore, the contractors should submit all the necessary documents for their pending payments to the Maharashtra Life Authority. Also, it was ordered that the Maharashtra Life Authority should take complete information about these pending payments and complete the payment process as per the rules.

Keeping in mind the need to deliver water to the citizens on time, contractors should proceed with the works in order of priority. After that, minor works and their payments should be submitted, meaning that important works and their payments will not remain pending. Also, G. Srikanth and Amgothu Sri Ranga Nayak gave strict instructions that the contractors should not stop the work of the scheme due to minor reasons.

On this occasion, Police Commissioner Mr. Pawar said that due to the pits dug for the work of the authority, CCTV cables were broken, which was causing difficulties in getting footage from accident-prone areas or accident sites. Therefore, he said that the broken CCTV cables should be repaired immediately and precautions should be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.

Superintendent of Police Mr. Rathod pointed out that due to the works of the authority, the markings on the roads are being destroyed and major accidents are happening due to the lack of chambers on the potholes. He suggested that the concerned should complete these works immediately.

Mrs. Palande said that the payments submitted by the contractors with complete documents have been made on time. She also mentioned that the payments pending due to incomplete documents will be verified and paid.

n this meeting, the project contractor had complained to the court that its payments to the Maharashtra Life Authority were pending. Accordingly, the current status of payments between the Maharashtra Life Authority and the project contractor was reviewed and discussed. On this occasion, Divisional Commissioner G. Srikanth and Member Secretary Amgothu Sri Ranga Nayak gave necessary instructions to the concerned.

All the issues regarding the claims of the payers were discussed in detail. Necessary instructions were given to the department as well as the concerned agency.

 

Also, the agency has been directed to submit all the documents required for the remaining payments within the next three days. The claims submitted by the agency will not be directly binding on the department. The administration has clarified that payments will be made as per eligibility only after examining and verifying all the claims as per the rules.
