AIIMS Delhi Gets India’s First Indigenous EP-6000 Endoscopy System

New Delhi: AIIMS Delhi has installed India’s first made-in-India endoscopy system, the EP-6000, marking a significant development in the country’s medical technology and gastroenterology sector.
The advanced system has been donated to the Gastroenterology Department of AIIMS Delhi by Fujifilm India. The company has established an endoscope manufacturing facility in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, as part of the government’s Make in India initiative.
AIIMS Director Dr. Nikhil Tandon said the installation of the new system would strengthen the institute’s capacity to provide specialised gastroenterology care. The equipment is expected to support advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
The installation also highlights the growing focus on domestic manufacturing of sophisticated medical equipment, reducing dependence on imported technology and supporting the development of India’s healthcare technology ecosystem.
With AIIMS Delhi being one of the country’s leading centres for specialised medical treatment and research, the addition of the EP-6000 is expected to further enhance its capabilities in gastroenterology.
