About 'Cockroach Janta Party':

The CJP is an unofficial, satirical online political front that emerged in May 2026 after remarks by the Chief Justice were interpreted as comparing unemployed youth to "cockroaches". It describes itself as "a political front of the youth, by the youth, for the youth. Secular - Socialist  Democratic  Lazy" and calls itself "Voice of the lazy & unemployed". The movement quickly gained millions of followers on Instagram and X and has become a platform for Gen Z grievances on unemployment, paper leaks and governance. The BJP has chosen to "Ignore, Dismiss, Delete" the movement, with a directive from the top not to comment on CJP. CM Devendra Fadnavis also brushed it aside, saying "women will never vote for them knowing how harrowing it is to deal with cockroaches in the kitchen". 

Context:

The CJP gained prominence during protests over the NEET paper leak in May 2026, which forced 2 million students to resit exams. The movement later celebrated the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following days of protests.
