‘Youth Have Their Own Report Card’: Kharge Hits Back at PM Modi Over ‘Naraz Fufa’ Remark
New Delhi, September 6: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his “Naraz Fufa” remark during his address at Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), saying young Indians have their own “report card” of concerns that demands answers.
Kharge criticised Modi’s September 5 interaction with students, arguing that the occasion should have focused on education, employment and the future of the country’s youth. Instead, he alleged, the speech turned into a political exercise.
The Congress chief said the youth’s “report card” includes unemployment, delays in government recruitment, examination paper leaks, rising education costs, shrinking scholarship opportunities and concerns over university autonomy.
Kharge also accused the Prime Minister of using political labels against his opponents to divert attention from governance-related questions. He referred to terms including “Naraz Fufa”, “Dimaagi Naxal”, “Urban Naxal”, “Khan Market Gang”, “Andolanjeevi” and “Parjeevi”.
His remarks came a day after PM Modi, while addressing students at SRCC, described persistent critics of major government initiatives as a “Naraz Fufa” an unhappy family elder who questions every new project.
Kharge argued that while political descriptions may change, the issues confronting young people remain. He urged the Prime Minister to listen to students and address their concerns rather than focusing on political rhetoric.
The exchange highlights the growing political focus on India’s youth, particularly issues surrounding jobs, competitive examinations, education costs and opportunities for students.
