Security Scare in Mumbai: Man Claiming to Be PMO Official Held With Armed Bodyguard

Fake PMO Official Detained at Mumbai Venue Ahead of PM Modi Event

Security arrangements at an event venue in Mumbai came under scrutiny on Tuesday after police detained two individuals at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to attend an event.

According to Mumbai Police, one of the detained individuals was a 24-year-old man who allegedly claimed to be an official from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The situation raised security concerns after police found that the man was accompanied by a bodyguard who was allegedly carrying a firearm. Mumbai Police said a gun was recovered from one of the two individuals.

Both men were detained at the venue, and the case was subsequently handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further investigation.

Police are now examining how the individual gained access to the high-security venue, whether his claim of being associated with the PMO was genuine, and the circumstances surrounding the possession of the firearm.

The incident comes as security agencies maintain heightened vigilance around events attended by the Prime Minister. The investigation is expected to establish the identities and backgrounds of the two individuals and determine whether any security protocols were violated.
