"CJP Calls Nationwide Protest On July 24 Over Police Action, Rejects Modi Govt's Talk Offer".
THE REPORT.
New Delhi:The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a nationwide protest on Friday, July 24, 2026*, in solidarity with students and protesters who it claims were "brutally beaten" by Delhi Police during the July 20 Parliament march.
CJP's Call For Protest:
CJP has issued a call titled "Every District. One Day. One Demand" and urged student unions, civil society groups and supporters to hold peaceful protests across every district.
The party has shared an SOP, campaign material and a memorandum template for organisers. It has asked participants to:
Read out students' demands at gatherings.
Show solidarity with those affected by police action.
Submit a memorandum to district authorities after the protest.
Coordinate for permissions and ensure peaceful conduct .
CJP leaders said the protest is aimed at standing "in solidarity with victims of police brutality across India".
Govt Offer For Talks, CJP Rejects:
Amid the protests, the Centre signalled willingness to engage in dialogue with CJP leaders. Union Minister JP Nadda met CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka at his residence.
However, CJP has rejected the government's proposals. CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka questioned: "But Modi-ji, tell us why are paper leaks happening in this country in the first place?" and said fast-track courts alone won't solve the issue.
Government sources have also denied claims that the Modi government initiated formal talks with CJP, calling earlier reports inaccurate. 68d9
Background:
The CJP protests began over alleged exam paper leaks, unemployment, and irregularities in NEET, CBSE, CUET and SSC exams. The July 20 "Chalo Sansad" march in Delhi saw police use lathi-charge and tear gas to disperse protesters. CJP's core demand remains the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The movement, which started as online satire, has now gained nationwide support from students and activists including Sonam Wangchuk.
