Maharashtra Rain Alert: Heavy Rain Likely in Several Districts; Punjabrao Dakh Issues Warning

More Rain Expected Across Maharashtra as Monsoon Becomes Active Again

Maharashtra is witnessing a fresh spell of rainfall after a relatively dry period, with several districts receiving showers. The rain activity is expected to intensify in parts of the state over the next few days.

According to weather expert Punjabrao Dakh, rainfall is likely to increase across Vidarbha, Marathwada, North Maharashtra and parts of Konkan. His recent forecast mentioned Chandrapur, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara and Gondia in Vidarbha, while Nanded, Hingoli, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed and Latur in Marathwada could also receive rain. 

IMD Also Warns of Heavy Rain

The India Meteorological Department has forecast spells of heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Maharashtra, accompanied in some areas by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds. The Konkan, North Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha regions are among the areas expected to experience increased rainfall activity. 

Recent forecasts have also highlighted Dhule, Nandurbar and Nashik Ghats as areas requiring particular caution, while Mumbai and several neighbouring districts have also faced periods of intense rainfall. 

Citizens Advised to Exercise Caution

With heavy showers potentially affecting roads, transport and low-lying areas, residents are advised to monitor official weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during intense rainfall or thunderstorms. Farmers should also take precautions to protect standing crops from waterlogging and strong winds.
