Vishal Dadlani Joins CJP Protest in Mumbai, Raises ‘Go Gyanu Go’ Slogan

Mumbai, October 2: Singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani joined the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on Friday, where the organisation is demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Addressing the gathering, Dadlani raised the slogan “Go Gyanu Go” and urged the crowd to join in. He also questioned what people would do if they lost the power to vote, linking his remarks to the ongoing controversy over electoral-roll revisions.

Dadlani had earlier announced his participation in the October 2 demonstration. In a video shared ahead of the protest, he urged people to join the agitation and repeated the “Go Gyan Go” slogan.

The CJP protest, led by founder Abhijeet Dipke, is focused on allegations concerning irregularities in the revision of electoral rolls and the group's demand for accountability from the Election Commission. Mumbai Police had earlier denied permission for the planned gathering, following which CJP announced a “Jail Bharo Andolan.”

Dadlani's appearance adds to the participation of prominent film personalities at the Mumbai demonstration. Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi have also been reported at the protest, while actor Prakash Raj has expressed support.
