Social media post calls former US President a “murderer”, says future Indian leadership will “make you pay”.
New Delhi:- A statement circulating online has directly blamed Donald Trump for the death of three Indian sailors in a recent US strike near Oman, calling him a “cowardly, cold-blooded murderer” and vowing that he will be “held accountable.”
The post also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the incident, adding: “It is unfortunate that PM Modi remains silent, but soon, India will have a strong Prime Minister who will make you pay for your misdeeds.”
The remarks come amid growing domestic political criticism of the government’s response after three Indian seafarers were killed when a US strike hit the commercial vessel MT Settebello in the Gulf of Oman.
Opposition leaders have demanded a stronger response and an apology from Washington. The Ministry of External Affairs has lodged a protest with the US Charge d’Affaires over the incident.
As of Monday, there has been no official response from Donald Trump or the US government to the online statement. PM Modi has not issued a public comment on the deaths of the sailors.
