Pakistan Condemns Houthi Attack on Power Station Supplying Madinah’s Prophet’s Mosque
Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly condemned a reported Houthi attack on the Taibah power distribution station in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, on September 29, saying the facility supplied electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack on civilian infrastructure as a “grave provocation”, expressing deep concern over the incident.
Pakistan stressed that the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of worshippers and pilgrims must be respected under all circumstances.
Islamabad called for an immediate and unconditional end to such attacks, warning that actions targeting civilian infrastructure pose a threat to regional peace and security.
Pakistan also expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.
The statement comes amid continuing regional tensions involving the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, with attacks and countermeasures raising concerns about the wider security situation in the Middle East.
