Economic Uncertainty Ahead? Adviser Urges Families to Build Three-Year Emergency Fund
Build a Three-Year Emergency Fund, Avoid Fresh Loans: Investment Adviser Muthukrishnan Dhandapani
New Delhi: Investment adviser Muthukrishnan Dhandapani has advised individuals and families to strengthen their financial preparedness by maintaining an emergency fund capable of covering up to three years of household expenses, citing the possibility of challenging economic conditions ahead.
In a post on X, Dhandapani urged people to exercise caution before taking on new debt. He suggested avoiding fresh loans and reconsidering major long-term financial commitments, including buying a house or investing in real estate, amid economic uncertainty.
He also advised job seekers and employees facing uncertainty not to be overly selective when looking for employment. According to Dhandapani, maintaining a steady source of income should take priority during periods marked by layoffs and economic pressure.
Dhandapani said difficult economic phases are part of broader economic cycles and suggested that periods of hardship would eventually give way to better conditions.
His comments come as financial preparedness, emergency savings and debt management remain important considerations for households navigating uncertainty in employment and investment markets.
