"Pezeshkian Reaffirms Iran’s Support For Palestine Despite US-Israel Attacks"
THE REPORT.
TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday said Tehran would support "any measure, initiative or decision" taken by Palestinian leaders during ongoing negotiations.Speaking during a phone call with Hamas political leader Khalil al-Hayya, Pezeshkian said according to the Iranian government’s website:
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will support any measure, initiative or decision taken by Palestinian leaders in the course of the negotiations".
PALESTINE REMAINS A PRIORITY:
Pezeshkian stressed that Palestine remains central to Iran’s foreign policy, despite recent US and Israeli attacks on Iran."Palestine has never ceased to be a priority of Iran’s foreign policy and remains the foremost issue for the Islamic world,"he said.
HAMAS RESPONSE:
According to the Iranian account of the call, al-Hayya thanked Iran for its support to Palestinians. He added that *Hamas is conducting political negotiations in coordination with other Palestinian factions.
The conversation comes amid renewed diplomatic efforts around the Gaza conflict and broader Israel-Palestine talks.
