Amit Shah Challenges Rahul Gandhi: BJP Ready For Special Parliament Session On SIR, Says Congress Protecting Infiltrators

NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah challenges Rahul Gandhi, says BJP ready for special Parliament session on SIR, accusing Congress of protecting infiltrators and avoiding debate.

Addressing Uttar Pradesh BJP state executive committee meeting, Shah said: Rahul Baba, I challenge both you and Akhilesh Yadav right here and now: the Bharatiya Janata Party is fully prepared to discuss this (CEC-SIR row) in Parliament. We have nothing to hide. Let us convene a special session of Parliament  but they have no intention of speaking there. They refuse to let Parliament function; instead, they just create a ruckus.”

He said Opposition planned “public impeachment” of CEC Gyanesh Kumar originally as “mock parliament” Oct 30 at Mallikarjun Kharge residence, postponed to Oct 31 due to rain, ahead of Ramlila rally Nov 1. Real impeachment notices already rejected by presiding officers, numbers not with Opposition. SIR has already stalled 2025 Monsoon, Winter sessions.

Challenge 2  Hyderabad, Nov 2: Leading BJP’s ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ / ‘Loktantra Bachao’ padyatra, Shah repeated dare from land of Hyderabad: “Whether it is EVMs, SIR, or infiltrators, we are ready to convene special session. Come and participate in discussion. PM Narendra Modi will defeat you in debate, even Telangana Yuva Morcha president can.”

Called Congress party on ventilator. Said INDIA bloc’s rally was not Vote Bachao Desh Bachao but Save Infiltrators programme. _“Congress wants to capture elections through bogus voting. If one person has two votes, should one be cancelled or not? Three crore votes are such that people they belong to do not even exist. These are Bangladeshi infiltrators.”

Assured: BJP will ensure every single infiltrator removed from voter list.

Context: INDIA bloc demands resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, suspension of SIR, restoration of pre-SIR rolls — alleges ∼13 crore names deleted (14% of rolls), disenfranchisement of poor, migrants. Congress MP Jebi Mather countered Shah, citing govt didn’t allow proper debate in Monsoon session.

No direct response yet from Rahul Gandhi to special session dare
