Six Family Members Killed, One Child Injured as Truck Overturns on Car in Bikaner’s Shridungargarh.

Victims returning from wedding in Deshnok; police use JCBs to recover bodies from crushed vehicle.

Bikaner, Rajasthan:Six members of the same family were killed and one child was injured late Wednesday night when a speeding truck overturned and fell on their car near Deshnok overbridge in Bikaner district, police said.

The accident occurred on National Highway-11 in the Shridungargarh area. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Saharan, the truck coming from Nokha towards Bikaner overturned onto a car traveling from Bikaner to Nokha. 

The deceased were residents of Nokha and had gone to Deshnok to attend a wedding ceremony. They were returning home when the crash occurred. All six occupants of the car died on the spot. 

 Rescue Operation With JCBs

Police and emergency teams used three JCB machines to lift the truck off the car and cutting equipment to extract the victims. Senior police officials reached the site to take stock of the situation. The bodies were transported to PBM Hospital’s trauma center for post-mortem. 71d17276

Family Lost Six Brothers in One Day.

Local reports said the six deceased were brothers from Nokha. A joint funeral for all six was held around 3:30 PM on March 20 in Nokha. Just four hours before the accident, the brothers had clicked a selfie together. 

Relatives said the car had been out of service for a year and was repaired only two months ago. One of the brothers, Mulchand, had recently built a new house for his son’s upcoming marriage. edce

Initial investigation suggests the accident could have occurred due to a tyre burst that caused the truck to lose balance and topple over the car. Police have registered a case and further probe is underway.
