New Delhi:The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused an urgent hearing on a petition seeking a court-monitored probe into alleged police action against students during the CJP's 'Sansad Chalo' march in Delhi.The protest was held over the NEET paper leak and demands for reforms in the examination system and the NTA.

CJI's Remarks in Court:

When the matter was mentioned before Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, the Bench declined to list it immediately.The CJI remarked: "Don't waste our time, and don't waste your time."

Responding to the petitioner's reliance on videos of the alleged police action, he further added: "We are not interested in videos; we don't have time to watch."

What the Plea Alleged:

The petition alleged excessive use of force by Delhi Police against protesters who were demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and systemic reforms in the examination process.The CJP collective had organized the march to highlight repeated paper leaks and lack of accountability in national-level exams.

Delhi HC Had Also Declined Earlier:

The Supreme Court's decision comes a day after the Delhi High Court also declined to urgently hear a similar plea challenging the alleged police action during the protests.Both courts said the matter did not warrant immediate listing and could be taken up in the regular course.The incident has reignited debate over student protests, police response, and judicial bandwidth for urgent intervention in ongoing demonstrations.
