"Turbulence Mid-Air: Air India Flight Lands Safely In Delhi, Injured Rushed To Hospital"

THE REPORT.

NEW DELHI:An Air India flight from Phuket, Thailand to Delhi encountered lsevere turbulence shortly before landing at Delhi Airport, leaving several passengers injured.According to officials, the aircraft experienced rough air during descent. Cabin crew provided immediate first aid to the affected passengers onboard, with assistance from a doctor and a nurse who were travelling as passengers.

LANDING & MEDICAL RESPONSE:

The flight landed safely at Delhi Airport. Emergency teams were on standby and the injured were rushed to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.In a similar past incident involving Air India flight AI-302 from Delhi to Sydney, the DGCA had reported 7 passengers suffered minor sprain due to turbulence. Cabin crew provided first aid using the onboard first aid kit, and medical assistance was arranged on arrival. Air India stated that such incidents are reported to relevant authorities as per standard procedure. 

AVIATION SAFETY CONTEXT:

Turbulence-related injuries are not uncommon. DGCA data shows that in 2023, an Air India Delhi-Sydney flight saw 7 passengers report minor sprain due to severe turbulence, with no hospitalisation required. Authorities have reminded passengers to keep seat belts fastened whenever seated, as turbulence can occur without warning.Air India has not issued a detailed statement yet. The incident is being reviewed by DGCA as part of standard safety reporting.
