Yogi Government Announces Up to ₹1 Lakh Interest-Free Support for 1 Crore Women in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: Ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Yogi Adityanath government has announced a major financial assistance initiative aimed at strengthening women economically and encouraging self-employment.
Under the state’s livelihood mission, around 1 crore women are set to receive financial assistance of up to ₹1 lakh. The amount will reportedly be provided as interest-free financial support, with the objective of helping women start or expand small businesses and become financially independent.
Amount to Be Given in Three Instalments
The proposed ₹1 lakh assistance will be disbursed in three instalments:
First instalment: ₹20,000
Second instalment: ₹30,000
Third instalment: ₹50,000
The initiative is aimed particularly at strengthening women associated with livelihood and self-help group activities and enabling them to develop sustainable sources of income.
The government’s broader objective is to promote women-led entrepreneurship, self-employment and financial independence across Uttar Pradesh.
The announcement comes as the Yogi government steps up its focus on women and youth ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Recent reports indicate that the state government is using welfare and livelihood programmes to build a stronger grassroots connection with these key sections of voters.
