"625-District Nationwide Protest: Groups Warn of Larger Movement if Centre Doesn't Act on Constitutional Rights".

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, July 21  The Bharat Mukti Morcha and National Muslim Morcha staged a strong protest at the District Collector's office on Monday, alleging repeated attacks on constitutional values, religious freedom, and social justice in the country. A 12 point memorandum addressed to the President was submitted through the Collector.

The protest was part of a nationwide campaign led by Bharat Mukti Morcha National President Waman Meshram. Organisers said memorandums were being submitted to the President via Collectors in 625 districts across 31 states on the same day. They called it a "democratic fight to save the Constitution."

Key Demands in the Memorandum:

Repeal Controversial Laws: Immediate withdrawal of CAA, UCC, and Waqf (Amendment) Act-2025, which they alleged undermine the basic structure of the Constitution.

Religious Freedom: Full implementation of Articles 25 to 29 related to religious freedom.

3Action Against Mob Lynching: Strict control over mob lynching incidents and stringent action against those involved in killings in the name of alleged cow slaughter, with justice for victims.

Release of Prisoners: Immediate release of innocent Muslim youth and ulemas jailed under false charges.

Stop Bulldozer Actions: Halt alleged bulldozer actions targeting mosques, dargahs, madrasas, churches, gurudwaras and Buddhist viharas, and take legal action against those responsible.

Communal Violence Law: Enact a separate Communal Violence Prevention Act to check communal violence.

Places of Worship Act: Strict implementation of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991.

Social Justice: Removal of restrictions in Article 341(3), caste-based census, and representation in proportion to population.

Protection of Religious Figures: Strict action against those who insult Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Bahujan icons.

Commission Reports: Implementation of recommendations of Gopal Singh, Sachar, Misra and Kundu Commissions.

Ban Hate Groups: Ban organisations spreading communal hatred within the legal framework.

Warning to Centre:

The protesters warned that if the Centre does not clarify its stand on constitutional values, religious freedom and social justice, a wider democratic agitation* will be launched across the country.

The memorandum was submitted by Bharat Mukti Morcha District President Santosh Salve, State Vice President Aliyar Khan, Rtd. ACP Riyazuddin Deshmukh, Advocates Ashok Balodhan Uke, M.A. Madani, Anil Salve, Manoj Nitanware, Rajendra Magre, Dr. Deepak Khillare, and several other office bearers and workers of both organisations.
