CJI Surya Kant To Attend 34th NLSIU Convocation As Chancellor; Arundhati Nag To Be Chief Guest
Bengaluru, Oct 7, 2026: Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Surya Kant will attend the 34th annual convocation of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, on October 17.
According to a LiveLaw report, CJI Kant will preside over the ceremony in his capacity as the Chancellor of the university. Veteran theatre and film personality Arundhati Nag will be the Chief Guest and will deliver the Convocation Address.
The ceremony comes after NLSIU had earlier cancelled the convocation scheduled for September 12, stating that no ceremony would be conducted for the 2026 batch due to "unavoidable circumstances". The university had at the time said that students would instead be awarded their degrees in absentia.
The October 17 event will now mark the formal convocation for the batch.
