 Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday made a serious allegation that triggered a political storm, directly naming Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in connection with a protest near the Prime Minister’s residence.

Speaking to reporters, Shinde said that no protest is allowed in the area around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence. This rule, he added, is known to everyone.

Despite this, Shinde alleged that Rahul Gandhi was fully aware and yet deliberately organized a demonstration at the location.

"Thousands, lakhs of people were called there. Rahul Gandhi's attempt was to create sabotage at Prime Minister Modi's residence,"Shinde alleged.

Claim Of Violating Security Norms:

Shinde stated that the area around the PM's residence is a "no-protest zone"and prohibitory orders are in place for security reasons.

According to him, Gandhi knew about these restrictions but still mobilized a large number of workers in that area, thereby putting the Prime Minister’s security at risk.

Political Reactions:

Following Shinde's remarks, BJP leaders launched a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi and the Congress. The Congress is expected to issue a rebuttal and deny the allegations. In the wake of the claims, Delhi Police and central security agencies have also been asked to clarify the incident.

The allegation has heated up political discourse from Parliament to the streets.
