Mirza Abdul Qayyum Nadvi of Read & Lead Foundation Urges Citizens to Plant Trees, Conserve Water, Reduce Plastic Use.
Aurangabad– Marking World Environment Day, Mirza Abdul Qayyum Nadvi of the Read & Lead Foundation, Aurangabad, issued a message linking environmental protection to moral and religious duty.
Quoting the Quran, he said: "Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by reason of what the hands of people have earned." (Surah Ar-Rum 30:41)
"This verse reminds us that the damage caused to the environment is a result of human negligence. Therefore, keeping the earth clean, green, and safe is our moral and religious responsibility," Nadvi stated.
He also cited a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: "If the Hour (the Day of Resurrection) is about to be established and one of you is holding a palm shoot, let him take advantage of even one second before the Hour is established to plant it."(Musnad Ahmad)
On World Environment Day, the Read & Lead Foundation called upon citizens to take a pledge for environmental protection. The foundation urged the public to:
