Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf Meets Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei To Discuss War, Economy And Strategic Partners

TEHRAN: Iranian media reported on Wednesday that Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf had met Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to discuss the latest military and economic developments in Iran's confrontation with the United States and Israel.

According to the reports carried by state broadcaster IRIB, the meeting addressed *strengthening Iran's national capabilities, maintaining social cohesion, tackling economic difficulties and "advancing relations with strategic partners."

Ghalibaf was also reported to have briefed Khamenei on parliament's activities since the outbreak of the latest war and its plans to address the country's problems.

The meeting, reported by IRIB on Wednesday, marks a rare publicized interaction involving the new Supreme Leader.

Khamenei, who succeeded his father Ali Khamenei after his killing in the February 28 US-Israel strikes, has not been seen by Iranians in public since he was appointed supreme leader on March 8. Senior sources have said he suffered facial disfigurement and other injuries in an airstrike.

In the absence of a visible supreme leader, Ghalibaf has emerged as the most prominent public face of the leadership, leading Iran's negotiating team in talks with the United States and positioning himself as a central figure steering wartime diplomacy and domestic governance.

Wednesday's meeting signals an attempt by Tehran to project unity at the top as Iran continues to face military pressure, economic strain, and diplomatic negotiations over its nuclear program and regional role.
