BHOGAPURAM, ANDHRA PRADESH: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram, calling it a "landmark project" that will strengthen connectivity and accelerate Andhra Pradesh’s growth.
A BOOST TO CONNECTIVITY AND ECONOMY:
PM Modi said the airport brings together advanced infrastructure and cutting-edge technologies to ensure a seamless travel experience for passengers.He stated that the new international airport will give a major boost to tourism, trade, investment and employment in North Andhra and across the state. With improved air connectivity, Bhogapuram is set to become a key gateway for the region.
CELEBRATING CULTURE AND HERITAGE :
The Prime Minister highlighted that the terminal building celebrates the cultural identity of Andhra Pradesh, reflecting the state’s art, traditions and architecture.The airport has been named after freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju. "Named after the great Alluri Sitarama Raju, this airport represents pride in our heritage and a spirit of optimism towards our future," PM Modi said during the inauguration.

The Bhogapuram airport is part of the Centre and Andhra Pradesh government’s push to expand aviation infrastructure, attract investment, and improve access to tourism hubs like Visakhapatnam and Araku.
