Trump Declares Iran a ‘Failed Nation’ as US-Iran Hostilities Resume

US President Donald Trump on Monday described Iran as a “failed nation” and declared that it was “dead”, as American and Iranian forces exchanged fire for the first time in more than a month.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused Iran’s leadership of being in “total disarray” and alleged that authorities were killing protesters. He called for Iranian leaders to face trial for what he described as “war crimes against humanity.”

Trump’s remarks came after US forces carried out strikes against Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Iran subsequently launched missiles toward US positions in Jordan, with the attacks reportedly intercepted.

The latest military exchange marks a sharp escalation after more than a month without direct US-Iranian attacks and has raised fresh concerns over the security of the Strait of Hormuz and global energy supplies.
