Mojtaba Khamenei Urges Muslim Rulers to Confront ‘True Enemy’
Tehran, August 30, 2026: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has urged the rulers of Muslim countries, particularly those in West Asia and the Persian Gulf, to identify what he described as their “true enemy” and confront its plans.
In a message marking Islamic Unity Week, Khamenei called for greater unity among Muslim nations and warned that divisions within the Muslim world could serve the interests of its adversaries. Recent reports identified the United States and Israel as the countries he accused of undermining Islamic unity.
Khamenei said Islam had reached a decisive stage after enduring periods of turmoil. He expressed confidence that the prospect of what he called the triumph of “truth over falsehood” and “Islam over unbelief” was closer than at any time in the past.
His remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Persian Gulf and wider West Asia, adding to concerns over the region’s already volatile security situation.
