Kapil Dev, Cricket Legends Urge Pakistan to Ensure Proper Medical Care for Imran Khan
Former India captain Kapil Dev has joined more than 20 former international cricket captains in urging Pakistan authorities to ensure proper medical care and humane treatment for jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The cricket legends have written a joint letter to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expressing concern over Khan’s well-being and calling for appropriate medical attention and dignified treatment while he remains in custody.
Indian cricket greats Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar are also among the signatories to the appeal.
The intervention by the former cricket captains comes as concerns continue to surround the health and living conditions of Imran Khan, who led Pakistan to its historic 1992 ODI World Cup triumph before entering politics.
The joint appeal highlights the influence of cricket figures across South Asia and calls on Pakistan’s authorities to uphold humanitarian standards in their treatment of the former Pakistan captain and prime minister.
