Singer Shreya Ghoshal has opened up about the sensitive issue of casting couch in the entertainment industry, saying she personally never experienced it but acknowledging that the problem exists.

During a recent conversation with Hauterrfly, Shreya was asked whether she had ever faced an inappropriate situation of this nature. She said she had not, explaining that she entered the industry at a very young age and was often accompanied by her parents when she travelled for work.

According to the singer, her parents' presence created a protective environment around her. She suggested that people with inappropriate intentions were unlikely to behave improperly when her parents were present.

However, Shreya made it clear that her own experience should not be taken as evidence that the problem does not exist. She acknowledged that women in the entertainment industry have faced difficult and uncomfortable situations.

The singer also reflected on how social media has changed the way people can speak about their experiences. She noted that women had fewer avenues to publicly share their stories before the rise of social media, whereas today digital platforms can provide a space to raise concerns and speak out.
