H1N1 Cases Surge Across India: Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra Among States Seeing Rise
H1N1 Cases Rise Across India as Monsoon Flu Season Intensifies
H1N1, commonly known as swine flu, is witnessing a notable rise across several parts of India during the monsoon season. Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Kolkata have reported increasing infections, prompting health authorities and hospitals to step up surveillance and preparedness.
Delhi has emerged as one of the major hotspots, with the city reporting a sharp increase in cases in recent weeks. Rajasthan has also recorded a significant August spike, while fresh infections have been reported in other states and cities.
Health experts, however, say there is no evidence of a new or unusually dangerous H1N1 strain. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has attributed the increase to seasonal influenza activity and has urged people to remain cautious rather than panic.
