Owaisi Slams Modi Govt Over Deaths of Indian Sailors in US Strike, Calls for Stronger Condemnation of Washington.

AIMIM chief says Centre failed to protect citizens abroad; questions PM’s silence on US military action, Russia recruitment, China policy.

Hyderabad:- AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has sharply criticised the Narendra Modi government over the deaths of three Indian seafarers killed in a US military strike on merchant tanker MT Settebello alleging that the Centre has failed in its “primary responsibility of protecting Indian citizens working abroad”.

‘Sad PM Hasn’t Strongly Condemned US’.

In a series of posts on X, Owaisi said it was “sad and distressing” that the prime minister had not strongly condemned the United States military over the deaths off the coast of Oman on June 9. Three Indian crew members were killed after US forces struck the Palau-flagged vessel amid the Strait of Hormuz standoff.

 Flags Russia, China Issues.

The Hyderabad MP also questioned the government’s handling of other international matters. He cited the recruitment of Indians into the Russian military to fight in Ukraine and said India’s response to China-related concerns has lacked assertiveness.

Demands ‘Stronger Leadership’ Abroad.

Owaisi argued that India deserves “stronger leadership and a more assertive foreign policy” when Indian lives are lost overseas. He said the government must do more than summon diplomats and must publicly hold foreign powers accountable.

 Political Debate Grows.

His remarks come amid growing political debate over New Delhi’s response to the deaths of Indian nationals in the region. The MEA confirmed Wednesday it had summoned the US chargé d’affaires and conveyed “deepest concerns” over the strike, demanding such attacks cease.
