Tragedy in Mathura: 10 Dead in Boat Accident on Yamuna River During Janmashtami Celebrations.

A devastating boat accident occurred on the Yamuna River in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, claiming the lives of 10 people, including women and children, during Janmashtami celebrations. The incident happened near Kesi Ghat in Vrindavan when a boat carrying around 25 pilgrims collided with a floating bridge and capsized .

 The boat accident occurred on August 19, 2022, during midnight celebrations at the iconic Banke Bihari Temple.

 Eyewitnesses reported that the incident happened due to overcrowding and poor arrangements.

 Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and instructed officials to carry out swift search and rescue operations.

This is not the first tragedy in Mathura; a similar incident occurred in 2022 when two devotees died in a stampede at the Banke Bihari Temple during Janmashtami celebrations .
