Dahi Handi Celebrations Turn Tragic In Maharashtra: 7-Year-Old Boy Dies In Mumbai, Woman Killed In Pune
Dahi Handi celebrations in Maharashtra turned tragic as two separate incidents in Mumbai and Pune claimed the lives of a seven-year-old boy and a woman.
In Mumbai, the seven-year-old boy died after an incident reported at Ekta Welfare Society, Room No. 23, in Chikuwadi, Malvani, on Marve Road in Malad West. According to information received from the Ward Control Room, the incident was reported at around 3:01 pm.
The tragedy occurred amid Dahi Handi celebrations across Maharashtra, where large crowds traditionally gather to watch human pyramids being formed to break suspended earthen pots.
In a separate incident in Pune, a woman was also killed during the festivities. The incidents have cast a shadow over the celebrations and raised fresh concerns about safety measures during crowded Dahi Handi events.
