Earthquake Hits Delhi-NCR, Tremors Felt Across Northern India.

A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 hit Delhi-NCR early this morning, causing strong tremors across northern India. The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) reported the epicentre was located near Jhajjar, Haryana, at a depth of 5 kilometres .
Residents in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad reported feeling vibrations, with some rushing out of homes and offices. The Delhi Metro stopped trains for 2-3 minutes as a precautionary measure .
No damage to property or loss of life has been reported so far. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is monitoring the situation closely .
Earthquake Preparedness
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Indian Army will conduct a tabletop exercise and drill in Delhi-NCR to enhance preparedness ⁴.
Recent Seismic Activity
Delhi-NCR experiences frequent earthquakes due to its location in Seismic Zone IV. In the past 10 years, 44 earthquakes with a magnitude of 4 or above have occurred within 300 km of Delhi .
